Parents in our preschool are asked to serve on one committee during the year.
The definitions below will help you choose the committees that you would enjoy most.
Scheduling Parent: One parent from each class will make the helping parent rotation schedule.
Library Parent: One parent from each class will get books from the public library to coincide with special class topics.
Health Parent: One parent from each class will review health forms at the beginning of the year to ensure all students have the required immunizations.
Arts & Crafts Committee: Several parents from each class will help the teacher in the event that a project requires more prep time than class allows.
Telephone Committee: In the event of an unexpected schedule change or emergency, several parents from each class will operate a phone tree to inform parents.
Housekeeping Committee: Several parents from each class will help the teacher prepare the classroom at the beginning of the year and then you are finished,
unless a quick cleaning and organizing session is needed during the year.
Hospitality Committee: Several parents from each class will bring beverages/cups to the meetings during the year.
Special Events Committee: Several parents from each class will help the teacher during parties, shows or other events throughout the year.
Parents are encouraged to serve on our Parent Council, which is similar to a PTA. Parents vote in the fall to fill the positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. We also vote for Parent Representatives to serve as liasons between parents and teachers. If you hold a position on the Parent Council - that will serve as your committee for the year.
